Like other ancient breeds, the original breeding of the Great Dane was to help people work. The Germans used the Great Dane to hunt wild boars. Now used for guard dogs, companion dogs, and working dogs. The Great Dane is known as the "Emperor of Dogs" and "Warrior of Dogs" in Germany. It is also known as the "easy-going giant" in the dog world and is easy to train.
